The APX Vehicular Adapter (VA), when installed in a vehicle, utilizes the mobile antenna to enhance transmit and receive range. Powered by the vehicle’s 12-volt battery, the APX VA offers charging capabilities and IMPRES functionality similar to the APX vehicular charger (NNTN7624). Charge status indication and audio (microphone) operating modes are shown through a dedicated LED. The mobile microphone and optional amplified loudspeaker enable safer operation of the portable radio in the APX VA. With a compact, open-face design, the APX VA includes a charger, fused power cable, keys for the mechanical locking feature, and a trunnion bracket with mounting bolts.
